Terms & Conditions
The basis on which this website is provided, and how our quotations and works are agreed.
1. About us
This website is operated by Century Demolition Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 13352242, at 9 The Mill, Ramshaw, Bishop Auckland, County Durham DL14 9SN. Contact: 07716 484668 or info@centurydemolitionltd.co.uk.
2. Using this website
The content here describes our services and is provided for general information. It is not a method statement, a structural assessment or advice on any particular building. Do not rely on page content in place of a site-specific survey. We may change or remove content at any time.
3. Enquiries and quotations
Nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance, and no price is binding until issued by us in writing. We attend site before pricing. Written quotations are based on the condition of the site at the time of survey, the information you provide and the access and working hours agreed. Unless stated otherwise in the quotation, it remains open for 30 days.
Where conditions found on commencement differ materially from those surveyed, for example previously concealed asbestos-containing materials, unrecorded services, buried structures or contaminated ground; we will notify you and confirm any variation to programme or price in writing before proceeding with the affected works.
4. The works
Works are carried out in accordance with the risk assessments and method statements issued for the contract and with applicable health and safety legislation. Licensed asbestos removal is carried out through our specialist licensed partner. You are responsible for providing safe access, confirming service isolations where these are within your control, and obtaining any consents, permissions or notifications that are yours to obtain, unless we have agreed in writing to obtain them.
5. Waste and materials
Arisings are segregated and, where suitable, crushed for reuse on site. Remaining material is removed through licensed facilities with waste transfer documentation available on request. Unless the quotation states otherwise, reclaimed materials and scrap arising from the works belong to us and have been taken into account in the price.
6. Payment
Payment terms, deposits and any staged or valuation-based payments are as stated in the quotation or contract documents for your works. Statutory interest may be charged on overdue sums.
7. Insurance and liability
We hold £5m public and product liability insurance and £10m employers' liability insurance; certificates are available on request. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our liability arising out of the works is limited as set out in the contract documents for those works, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
8. Cancellation
Where you are a consumer and the contract is concluded away from our premises, you have a 14-day right to cancel. If you ask us to begin works within that period, we may charge for what has been carried out up to the point of cancellation. Cancellations or postponements by either party should be notified as early as possible so plant and labour can be rescheduled.
9. Governing law
These terms and any works we carry out are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
These terms are provided for information and are not legal advice. See also our privacy policy, or contact us.
