The North East runs from the Northumberland coast down through Tyne and Wear, County Durham and Teesside into North Yorkshire, tied together by the A1(M), A19 and A66. It's a region shaped by heavy industry, shipbuilding, coal, steel and chemicals, much of which has left behind ex-industrial land, redundant works buildings and structures that need specialist demolition rather than a general contractor.
Our yard sits at Ramshaw, Bishop Auckland, close to the geographic centre of that spread, which lets us reach Newcastle and Sunderland to the north, Teesside and Middlesbrough to the east, and the North Yorkshire market towns to the south without treating any of them as an outlying job.
Climate and terrain vary sharply across the region: coastal sites from Sunderland to the Northumberland coast deal with salt-laden wind and exposed structures, while Pennine-fringe towns in County Durham see harsher winters and more challenging access in bad weather. Both extremes call for planning that goes beyond a standard method statement.
Whether the job is a garage in a Durham village, a factory unit on a Teesside industrial estate, or a larger commercial contract that takes us outside the North East altogether, the same principles apply: a free survey, a written fixed price, and asbestos and waste handled properly from the outset.
