Our story
Demolition has been in this family for over fifty years. Kevin Thexton's father worked in the industry throughout Kevin's life, and Century Demolition Ltd was launched in 2021, carrying over contracts and relationships built by the family's previous firm.
That inheritance matters on site. It means the estimate you are given reflects what the job actually takes, the sequence of works is planned by people who have done it hundreds of times, and problems are spotted at survey stage rather than halfway through a programme.
We are still deliberately family-run. Kevin's wife is the company's health and safety lead, and we keep a permanent team of eight, scaling to around twenty with trusted subcontractors when a contract calls for it. You deal with the people accountable for the work.
Most of our work is as a subcontractor to principal contractors, and we are equally set up to act as principal contractor ourselves. Domestic work is handled directly with homeowners, on a process built for people who have never commissioned demolition before.

How we work, and what we commit to
Demolition goes wrong in two places: the survey and the sequence. We put our effort into both, then put it in writing so nobody is guessing.
Survey before price
Every job is attended before a figure is issued. You get a fixed written quote based on what is actually on site, not a rate quoted down the phone that changes once we arrive. Work is quoted and contracted job by job, so there are no account terms to set up first.
RAMS for every job
Full risk assessments and method statements are produced for every contract, no matter the size, by our in-house health and safety person.
One team, start to finish
A permanent crew of eight, supervised by CCDO Gold supervisors, with a fire marshal on every site. Trusted subcontractors are added when a programme needs the numbers.
Licensed disposal, recorded
Arisings are crushed for reuse where possible and the remainder goes through a licensed facility, with waste transfer documentation returned to you.
Programme kept, or you hear why
If ground conditions, asbestos findings or weather move a date, you are told the same day, with the revised sequence and cost implication in writing.
Answered by people who do the work
Phones are answered monday to sunday, 8am – 5:30pm, and emergency lines 24/7, 365 days a year: by the family running the contracts, not a call centre.
